Vivagran® is a new and unique natural cereal developed using classical breeding methods, which has notable health, functional and sensory properties, making it of interest for the development of innovative food products.

Vivagran® is the tradename for tritordeum, a new cereal specie which has a range of valuable nutritional, functional and organoleptic properties which make it ideally suited for use in functional food products. Tritordeum was developed by crossing durum (pasta) wheat with a wild barley, Hordeum chilense, native of Chile and Argentina, by researchers at the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture (IAS) in Córdoba, Spain.

Breeders elsewhere have never obtained this unique cereal and the company Agrasys has exclusive commercial rights to tritordeum and is continuing the development and breeding of tritordeum varieties, in collaboration with the researchers at the IAS Córdoba.
